Cinema Review – Bridge of Spies

During the Cold War in 1957, a Soviet spy named Rudolf Abel (Mark Rylance) is caught in Brooklyn, and charged for his crimes. Insurance lawyer Jim B. Donovan (Tom Hanks) is drafted in to represent Abel, to ensure he gets a fair trial. After convincing the judge that Abel should not be put to death for espionage, and after a U-2 spy plane is shot down over Russia, Donovan travels to Berlin to negotiate a prisoner exchange between the two countries. On their first date, college student Sophia (Britt Robertson) and bull rider Luke (Scott Eastwood) rescue an elderly man from a car crash. Sophia befriends Ira (Alan Alda) and, through reading old letters aloud to him, learns of his relationship with Ruth (Oona Chaplin) and finds a way to make her relationship with Luke work. Cinema Review – Wanderlust

Soon after Linda (Jennifer Aniston) and George (Paul Rudd) but an apartment in New York their work arrangements fall through and they find themselves on the road to stay with George’s obnoxious brother Rick (Ken Marino) in Georgia. They stop for the night at Elysium B&B and discover that this place is less a hotel and more a hippie commune. After a night of smoking weed and relaxing the couple hit the road again, only to find themselves drawn back to this unusual way of life. Continue reading
